Qn : What does the name "YASCA" stands for
YASCA stands for this : [YA]oi [SCA]nlation --- a name given by Beline, the head founder of Yasca Translation.
Qn : Who is the founder of YASCA?
YASCA is founded by Beline, assisted by Okaasan and MegKF. Later, Mitsuibishi was promoted by Beline to help out in the daily running of YASCA.
Qn : Will YASCA release licensed manga?
No.
Qn : Can I share licensed manga in the channel?
We leave it up to the personal conviction of the filserver.
Qn : How do I get a voice in the channel?
We voice only fileservers who share yaoi manga (or a substantial amount of other genres of manga) in the channel.
Qn : Can I link the website?

Qn : Some translation seemed funny...
Our earlier projects are done solely from Chinese raws with Chinese translators, mostly 3rd generation translation works. As such, if there was an error from the Japanese-Chinese translation by the Chinese manga publisher, the error would be propagated in the Chinese-English translation. We seek your understanding.
Our later projects will have less of this problem as we now have some in-house Japanese translators who help our Chinese translators proofread their translation in context, using the Japanese raws. If you feel that you can do a better job in translation, please write to

Qn : Why does YASCA release so spuriously?
We are basically a group of yaoi fans who are working out of love and motivation for yaoi with no time constraints. Our group does not believe in imposing time-constraints for scanning, translation, sfxing, proofreading, editing or QC. While we understand that some other groups do not agree with our group's production culture, this is what YASCA believes works best for each team member. Also, most of our staff members are involved in multiple yaoi scanlation groups. We seek your understanding for our spurious releases. Basically, our team lacks resources mainly in translating and Japanese context-proofreading. Qn : How does YASCA's translation team work?
A chinese-english / japanese-english translation draft is submitted by the translator. A Context Proofreader who is versed in japanese will check through the translation to see if there are any 3rd generation translation error. This process is termed Context Proofreading [CPR]. After the CPR, the script is passed back to another Grammer Proofreader who is strong in english to check for mistakes. This process is termed as Grammar Proofreading [GPR]. After the GPR, the script is passed back to the translator for a final tweak. This will yield a translation script for editing.
Reason for this tedious process of production is to ensure that our translations are of a certain quality and standard. We are trying our best to bring the most accurate translation, refined and honed to a certain standard.

Qn : Why are some of YASCA's releases censored?
There are 2 kinds of raws we use in Yasca. Chinese raws and Japanese
raws. Chinese raws tend to be censored (at print) and Japanese raws tend to
be uncensored (at print). We are a non-profit fan group who are doing all these projects
based on the resources we have at hand, thus, not all scanlation projects
can be edited on japanese raws due to resource availablity constraints. We are essentially a fan group who work with what we have and from fans' contribution.
Some of the original chinese raws used in our yaoi production are pre-censored by the original
chinese publisher, this explains why some of our releases are censored.

Qn : What is YASCA's policy on re-translation?
This would be a case-by-case issue. Please write us an email
to discuss further. In general, we would like to have the foreign language production group to do the editing from the original raw scans provided by the scanner with the translation text from the translator. This means that the editor from the foreign language production would have to clean/edit out the raw scans themselves. We do not accept foreign language groups who simply cut and paste text over what the YASCA editors have done.
Qn : How did YASCA get all the raws for the yaoi mangas?
YASCA makes use of the scans donated by our scanners from their very own personal collection of yaoi manga. Every single page is personally scanned by each of the YASCA's resident scanners.
